This hike will start at Snakey Plain Trail on the Tooma Road. This is a well marked trail, with a couple of short steepish bits. We will have lunch somewhere on the trail, before we arrive at Wheelers Hut, for the night. On Sunday after brekky, we will make our way down to the Tooma River. You might like to bring water shoes for the crossing. After crossing the river, there is the final short steep climb up onto Dargals Trail. From here the trail is a gentle undulation. We will either have morning tea or lunch at Patons Hut before the short (2.7km) walk from the hut back to the cars.
All up about 20km over the 2 days; 9km on Saturday and 11km on Sunday.
This hike will start with a short car shuffle along the Tooma Road, to Tooma reservoir, where we will exit on Sunday.
