- Some camp sites are under trees but this can be avoided.
This is a weekend that can suit nearly everyone. Near Dinner Plain, it is only about 200 m from the car park to the JB Plain campsites. That means you can bring real food and luxury items. (Banana lounges have been seen popping up and the odd bottle of wine has been spotted on previous JB weekends.) There is a toilet so no trowels required.
The plan for the weekend is pretty flexible and can as simple as reading a book, chatting, walking in for an coffee and eating. We usually have a fire at night to relax by.
Last year we walked up Mt Higinnbotham for sunset on Friday night, had the choice of an easy or moderate walk on Saturday and did a 7km walk up Mt Loch on Sunday.
The hotel sells pizzas so most of us opted for take away on Saturday night.
If you’re not into camping you could even book accommodation in Dinner Plain and join us for most of the time.
