Canoe Weekend 2025
Over the last 4 years, we’ve had some great weekends paddling The Murray River (from Bringenbrong Bridge to Clarke Lagoon and from Howlong to Corowa) and the Mitta River from Mitta Mitta to Lake Hume.
This year we are off to a new exciting location, The Goulburn River, between Killingworth Reserve and Seymour.
Saturday 18th – Day 1 will start at Killingworth Reserve and finish around Trawool, approx. 33km downstream.
Sunday 19th – Day 2 will be from our finishing point on Saturday to Seymour, approx. 17km.
We’ll be based at Yea Riverside Caravan Park and each day travel/car shuffle to the start/finish. For our past canoeing weekends, most people have camped on the Friday night to avoid an early start from Albury on the Saturday morning, but that’s totally up to you.
Double canoes will be hired from Kyabram, and Mick will pick be bringing them for us. As in previous years there will be a cost (TBA) to cover canoe transport.
Cost of canoes $110 per canoe/$55 per person, this includes pfd’s and paddles. Paddlers must be able to swim 25m and be confident in the river.
Everyone will need to make their own bookings at Yea Riverside Caravan Park.
Dinner Saturday night will be somewhere in Yea, and I will book for the group. Please let me know if you don’t want to be included.
