This walk takes us on some of the tracks through the forest around Mt Beauty and gives us views up to the snow-covered mountains. We start on the Survey Track which runs parallel to the main road up to Cranky Charlie. It is a steady climb but not steep, on a good path. We then cross the road and head back down the Pole Track, passing some of the oddly named mountain bike trails. We continue on down towards the Gorge Walk that leads to the river. There are a few options along the way and we will stop somewhere with a nice outlook for lunch! Total length about 12 km, all on tracks, pace will be slowish.
