For those who neither paddle nor pedal, how about an easyish day walk at beautiful Falls Creek instead? Starting from Langford Gap, we will walk along beside the aqueduct past the Rover Lodge before beginning the steep but short climb to Cope Hut, the first ‘accommodation’ built for skiers and hikers in Falls Creek. From there, we follow the Wallace Heritage Trail to Wallace Hut, stopping along the way to admire views and learn more about the history of the area. Then it is down to the aqueduct and back to to Langford Gap. We should get views, history and wildflowers on this walk, and possibly be overtaken by runners doing an ultramarathon. The walk is all on track, generally flat, and about 12 km. Pace will be slow as the leader is recovering from an extended spell of inactivity.

If you are interested in coming on this walk, please ring me to book in, BUT NOT BEFORE 6 January.
