This is an easy 30km bike ride with the option to ride an extra 15kms.
We will meet at Noreuil Park, Albury at 10:00am and ride along the new river precinct, following the bike path beside the Murray River to Kremer Street boat ramp. We then ride along the path through the Yindyamarra Sculpture Track and the Horseshoe Lagoon Track until we join the recently opened Wagirra Circuit Trail. We’ll take a break on a beach halfway along this trail before continuing along the Wagirra Circuit to Wonga Wetlands where we join the track alongside the Riverina Highway, returning through the Wetlands and retracing our path back to Noreuil Park, a 30km return trip.
As an optional extra, we can cross the border into Wodonga (no Passport required) and ride a 5km circuit around The Crossing Place before returning to Noreuil Park. The Crossing Place Trail is a winding gravel/dirt track, NOT suitable for thin-tyred road bikes. This is an extra 15kms return trip.
BYO snacks and drinks for morning tea on the Wagirra Trail.
Participants need to carry a spare tube.
If the weather forecast is not favourable (i.e. crap), we will postpone to the following Sunday (July 7th)
