WATCH THIS DATE!  A heads up! This event is still undergoing planning so details are to come. However it will be on the edge of Wodonga and will involve two walks of approximately 5K each. It will be possible to do either as a half day or both of them together to make a full day.

follow this one ….. more details very soon.

Here are the further details you have been patiently waiting for.
The morning walk will start with a gentle rise to warm you up. We will wander past open paddocks and through bushland where we will see lots of kangaroos soaking up the sun. There are several dams to pass, and even a casuarina forested gully with a broken dam. All the water crossings are dry at the moment. Deer are also present. This walk has an easy to medium rating because some of it is through open bush, but we also use animal tracks and vehicle management tracks. We will take about 2 hours with a morning tea stop to admire the view.
Our picnic lunch will be in a nearby park so put a chair in your car.
The afternoon, lead by Wendy, will be on a section of Federation Hill, starting with a short walk on the Firetrail before heading up to Carex track and along the ridge to Summit Chair. It will be a short, steepish, leisurely climb up the hill, but well worth the effort to be rewarded with excellent views across Wodonga Albury, surrounding hills, and out towards Tabletop. We may be lucky enough to spot a koala, an echidna and many bird species. The track is wide and undulating with an uneven surface with protruding rocks in sections. It has an easy medium grading. Cattle and sheep occasionally graze on the hill. This section will also be about 5K and take approximately two hours depending on stops.
NOTE You can choose to do either as half day walks or both as a full day.
