There are Mt Sugarloafs all over Australia and in fact the world. This one is on the Eldorado Rd near Beechworth so no passport is required.
The shortest route there is on little used 4wd tracks that climbs through some very pleasant forest. There are lots of ups and downs and some of the walking is steep but never such that your boots scrape your chin.
There is a very pleasant lunch spot with great views at the top.
The walk is a 16km circuit with a very short car shuffle if we have 2 cars.
