Gardens Hostel

Jindera Gardens Hostel is a 21 bed, ageing-in-place, high quality, modern facility, set in a beautiful garden with peaceful bush surrounds.  The atmosphere is very welcoming and homely.

The gardens are popular with our residents and their visitors. The garden area is fully paved for easy strolling and the large gazebo area near the rose garden is well used.

At just 600 metres to town, Jindera Gardens is a short walk to the local IGA, chemist, post office, coffee shop, bakery and Hume Building Society. We are also just a 10 minute drive from the outskirts of Albury.

We pride ourselves on quality meals and all food is cooked fresh on the premises, daily. Our four-week rotating menu, approved by the dietician, caters for all residents’ dietary requirements and residents’ choices are taken into consideration.

All staff at Jindera Gardens are qualified in aged care. This includes a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist and our creative Activities Officer caters for the daily socialisation and entertainment of the residents with a busy and varied calendar of events. Our dedicated care staff are committed to providing high quality, reliable care in a warm and friendly manner, in keeping with UPA’s values.

Various community groups come to the hostel to engage with the residents including three local schools and three different church groups hold services at Jindera Gardens.

Our beautiful gardens appeal to residents who like to garden themselves. We offer high rise garden beds so residents can continue to enjoy gardening.

Families are very welcome at Jindera Gardens. Family members can join us for a meal – please just let us know a little in advance. Visiting hours are flexible while giving consideration in the evenings to residents who like to go to bed early.

 You are also welcome to accompany your loved one on any of the outings planned as part of the monthly activity calendar. Please ask for your copy of the activity calendar and book in for the outing. We look forward to your company.

A resident meeting is held monthly and family members are welcome to attend.

Resident rooms – Our spacious rooms offer individual ensuite with their own heating and cooling units and residents are encouraged to bring personal items to make the room their own room.

Home layout – Jindera Gardens has three lounge rooms, an activity room, two dining rooms, wide hallways throughout and a hairdressing salon.

Our lounge and dining areas are warm and inviting. There are reading areas and large screen televisions for resident enjoyment. We have a large range of DVDs and reading materials.

Visiting services:

• Hairdresser visits weekly
• Mobile library service visits fortnightly
• Podiatrist visits 6 weekly
• We are supported by local doctors

Refundable Accommodation Deposit – $290,000.

This is also determined by the ‘Permanent Residential Aged Care Request for Combined Assets and Income Assessment’ through the Department of Health.
