The weekend will be based at Cooleman Mountain Campground and spent doing 2 day walks in The Blue Waterholes precinct, a drive of about 3.5hrs from Albury.

Clarke Gorge walking track (5km return) and Nichols Gorge Walking Track (7km return) are in the Blue Waterholes precinct of Kosciuszko National Park, 25km northeast of Snowy Mountains Highway via Long Plain Road and Blue Waterholes trail. Each track starts near Blue Waterholes campground. Even though both these walks are short, they both involve water crossings, uneven and wet surfaces and scrambling over rock surfaces, and that’s why they are graded medium to hard.

The narrow Clarke Gorge cut by Cave Creek, has spectacular limestone cliffs, and cave formations on either side and finishes at the top of Cave Creek Falls, where there’s a 15m drop of water as well as views down Wilkinson’s Gorge.

Just 500m into the Nichols Gorge Walk, is the opening of Cooleman Cave. This walk has some unique longer views of the limestone gorge and fossils in the limestone rocks.

The medium hard grading of this event is due to some rock scrambling required to get to the top of the waterfall.  If you do not go to the top then this is a medium walk.

There is no need to book a campsite as I will book enough campsites for everyone.
