On this walk we will explore the new trail around the perimeter of Wonga Wetlands, just to the west of Albury, and also visit the Yindymarra sculpture walk. We start and finish at the Kremur Street boat ramp and join the new part of the Wagirra trail near Wonga <https://www.alburycity.nsw.gov.au/major-projects/wagirra-trail-extension>
This takes us right round the perimeter of the wetlands following the meandering river, and then we return to the start via the Sculpture walk. We’ll stop for lunch somewhere along the way. The area is noted for its bird life. Total distance is about 22 km but it’s all flat and on a well-made path so don’t let the distance deter you. If the weather forecast is for is very hot weather we will have an early start.
There is an option to start/finish at Wonga Wetlands, giving a walk of 13 km.
Postponed until autumn.
