We offer a full program of bushwalking activities throughout the year, ranging from our local easy evening walks, to longer backpacking trips, with many options in between. The club suits all levels of bushwalking and hiking experience. Activities are graded according to difficulty and led by committed and experienced volunteer leaders. In addition to bushwalking, we also offer activities including cycling, canoeing, car-camping and snow activities. Refer to the activity-type sub-pages for further information on each. Visitors are welcome to join us on activities, without being a fully-paid member. We just ask that you pay $5/day as a contribution to the club. Otherwise refer to the Join or Renew page for our membership application form. We have also compiled a list of faqs in addition to the following key points. BookingsGenerally you should book in with the leader by calling them the Sunday/Monday to Wednesday the week leading up to the activity, and for overnight walks at least 7 days prior to trip. Leaders may also list more specific instructions such as ‘don’t call during work hours’. If you haven’t walked with a leader before, you must call them to book in for an activity (not email or sms). Fitness and activity gradingsMembers and visitors must check with the leader that their fitness and experience suit the walk. A walk leader can refuse permission for any person to take part in his/her activity. Each walk will list a difficulty grading. A description of each grading is available at the bottom of this page. Ambulance coverIt is strongly recommended that all participants have ambulance cover for their own wellbeing. Emergency DetailsWe ask all participants to carry a completed Emergency Details form in the top of their pack in case of an emergency. This will only accessed by the leader in case of a genuine emergency.
