This walk starts on private property to access the foothills on the northwest side of Mt Jack. After walking through paddocks we enter state forest and walk uphill on a little used 4WD track , and at our highest point, stop to admire the views of the Mudgegonga Valley, with Mt Buffalo as a backdrop . We then continue on the 4WD track , going downhill , before heading off track through the bush. We stop for morning tea at an old campsite , then continue over a creek, uphill, to another track. We follow this , undulating with another creek crossing before lunch. There is an uphill after lunch, then lots of ups and downs back to our starting point.
This walk is 16kms long , nothing too steep but undulating, with a couple of small creek crossings, and a short section off track.
